Very good showing: Vinny the train Turano went 3 and 2 in Freestyle.
James Corbett won a few matches and wrestled very hard.
Chris Loew went 2 and 2 in Freestyle and 1 and 2 in Greco. He went with the big dogs.
Chris Aaroz went 1 and 2 in both styles but was in the mix to win. Experience is something he is gaining. Very tough showing..

Well it is time for our team to send in deposits for the Wantagh Wrestling Camp Aug 9 thru Aug 13, 2010 at the High School in a Air Conditioning gym. We need the support of our team and community to pull this off. Joe Kavanagh signed with Hofstra University joining the Pride wrestling team. Hofstra will have three former Wantagh Warriors on the team as Steven Bonnano and Matt Loew are already there. Joe is projected as a 174 /184 pounder in his quest to become a NCAA Champion. Joe has been training very hard and just won the Massapequa Tournament under the lights while competing in three different divisions. The contingent of wrestlers that attended the Hofstra Team Camp did very well. The Warriors finished second in the camp to Brentwood. We did not have a full team and had some fill in’s from the other teams. After seeing the kid’s wrestle, I came away very impressed. .. This is a shout out to all the Warriors who attended the car wash and helped out. Without you there is no team… We made over $500.00 dollars. One down and two to go. The money we raise is used for a second varsity team, travel expenses, equipment, referee’s etc. If you missed the wash, no problem just let someone know you won’t be present. With school just about out it’s time to step it up. We will having Wantagh practices a few days per week as per our club. You can get the schedule from Ray Hanley, Coach Gillespie and Coach Murphy. If you are attending private clubs, keep going. Just let us know that you are working out. It is with much sadness that we have been informed of the passing of Bill Dailey Father of Lisa and Grandfather of James, Joseph and Blaise and Father in Law of James Kavanagh.
Mr. Dailey was a huge supporter of Wantagh Wrestling and was always present and watching our kids win. Bill had a great attitude. He will be missed.
