The Wantagh Warrior Middle School Wrestling Team improved to Four ( 4 ) wins and no ( 0 ) losses on the year. The team defeated Merrick Avenue 63-0 pitching a shutout. The next match is scheduled for Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. vs Plainedge away.

Under the Head Coaching of Ray Hanley Jr. and Chris Hughes, the Wantagh Warriors ( Middle School ) improved to 3-0 with a victory over Hicksville, 59-9. So far, the squad has defeated Seaford and Bethpage this season. The next match is scheduled for Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 4:30 P.M., at the Merrick Avenue, Middle School. The 3 Style Club will be having sign ups this Monday, March 8, 2010, starting at 6:00 P.M. at the Wantagh Middle School Gym. Please get the word out. This club is for the little wrestler all the way up to the advanced one. The cost is low. Our coaches are running this. We will have College Wrestlers as well as guests being brought in to run practice. We use this money to pay the college coaches. It is very important that everyone on our team sign up. If you play …

The Wantagh Warriors finished 3rd in New York State in their attempt to repeat as State Champions. Wantagh had three second place finishes and secured a few points with another win. Rocky Point had three champions at 140, 160 and 171 and took 1st while Huntington finished second with two champions and one second place finish at 112, 119 and 160. Nassau County finished second as a section behind Suffolk County and did a great job. Thank you to all our coaches.

The Wantagh Middle School under the leadership of Head Coaches Ray Hanley Jr. and Chris Hughes open the season this Tuesday vs Seaford at
home starting at 4:30 P.M. I will be posting the names of the entire team and posting the results. The match vs Hicksvill scheduled for Thursday was cancelled as Hicksville did not have enough practices in.

The Coaches wanted me to post this information. There are numerous tournaments held over the summer. We will try and attend. I will post the information as well as provide information at our Club. If you are playing another sport, it is very important to attend some practices at Wantagh. The Club will be holding sessions at 7:30 P.M. I think they are on Monday and Wednesaday starting March 9, 2010. As far as the summer camp:

The Warriors put up a great fight in defense of their title … The team scores have not been released. It would be safe to say we are not in the running for first but it appears we can secure a second or third place finish. That is amazing to me with so many young wrestlers getting the chance to represent the black and gold. It is to close to call after day one… The leader board has Uniondale in 1st followed by Long Beach in second, Wantagh in in third, Massapequa fourth and Syosett in fifth. All the teams are separated by six points. The Warriors have six wrestlers in the semi finals which include:
