The School Boy Duals which is an annual event is taking place in Warren, Indiana with a team of  New York wrestlers from the 7th and 8th grade competing in Freestyle and Greco Roman vs other wrestlers from across the United States.  This is a team event. The format is set up like a high school match. I know the Hofstra Camp is close to home. You can send your kids to sleep over for a few days or shuttle them back and forth. The food is good because it is at the school campus where the College kids eat. The instructors are good…  The kids will wrestle as a team vs other schools. I know the price is good.  If you put all the time in year round then attend a camp. Lets support HOFSTRA..

The Wantagh Varsity Awards Dinner  hosted by Athletic Director, Dan Butler was a great success and  took place last night ( 06/08/10 ) at the Huntington Hilton Hotel in Melville before a packed house. Numerous awards were given out at the dinner which was paid for by the Wantagh Booster Club.  The Booster Club is wonderful and they really spread the awards out to everyone. The Warriors sent a number of wrestlers to Locust Valley to compete in a folk-style tournament.  By the looks of the entries, Wantagh and Massapequa had the most kids. The following wrestlers competed:

The wrestlers who have made the New York State Team going to Fargo, North Dakota need your help. To off set the cost, the team has been issued raffle tickets to sell at the cost of $10.00 per raffle. The Wantagh Warriors were well represented at the Freestyle / Greco State Championships in Binghamton, New York the weekend of May 7, 2010. Kenny Albert, Vinny Turano, Chris Aaroz, James Corbett, Chris Loew, Thomas Hall and Stephen English all competed. Everyone wrestled hard and never gave up. Thats how you get better. We have to wrestle the best to get better.
