The Wantagh Warriors on the strength and hard work finished third at the 2024 County Championships as Anthony and Joseph Clem finished first while Jesse Vandorden also won. Jesse took home the OUTSTANDING Wrestler award. That makes seven county championships between these three studs. Now its on to Albany. I will provide some additional information as I get it. Plainedge finished first in the team scoring followed by our Warriors and then Long Beach.

Wantagh Wrestling finishes 3rd at the Nassau County Championships behind 6 All-County wrestlers. As always there was tons of momentum swings throughout the two day competition; plenty of tears of joy & of heartbreak but the effort from the team never faulted and the coaches are so very proud of this group for their resilience, dedication and overall commitment to our program. We are delighted at the state of Wantagh wrestling as a whole. As good as the weekend was there is ALWAYS room for improvement. Those underclassmen that return next season the time is NOW to do what you have to do to reach your full potential for this time next year. Wrestling is technically a winter sport but to be a wrestler is a full-year commitment. None of our 3 county champs return next year……who will be our next wrestler to climb to the top of the podium?
Wantagh will be well represented as it sends 4 wrestlers to the state championship in Albany in 2 weeks.
